I thank and praise state Sen. Margaret Craven for her voice of clarity in responding to the irresponsible and ignorant comments recently made by Gov. Paul LePage and members of his office regarding the Department of Health and Human Services.
Misguided by arrogance and political motivation, they choose to continue to characterize the workings of the former administration as inept and sinister.
It is unfortunate that they have not been guided by fact in speaking of the workings of the DHHS and the federal government. What a mistake it was to dismiss and disregard the expertise of the public servants who served the state of Maine prior to the current administration.
The current administration has taken the situation, as well as others, and has chosen to distort the truth — rewriting history in an attempt to determine and engineer the future of the state of Maine.
Such actions are truly a disservice to Maine’s citizens.
The good people of Maine deserve better.
