It seems the world is being overrun by barbarian killers who enjoy killing innocent people. There were the Somali pirates who executed four individuals. Such a gang lacks sophistication and resorts to extreme cruelty.

In Libya, people have taken violent action to overthrow the government, trying to kidnap its leader. Many have died in the resulting action.

And every time problems arise in the Middle East, oil prices jump sky high here in the U.S. Oil prices are already so high that some people can buy only enough oil to get by until their next payday or wait until their Social Security checks arrive at the end of the month.

Closer to home, in Florida earlier this year, uncivilized men killed law enforcement officers in two separate shootings. Those officers put their lives on the line each day to protect the public.

As a parent, I remind my children that I have seen good times and bad times, but the worst is yet to come for their children and grandchildren, who I am afraid will suffer the most.
