This is in response to Arthur Gagne’s letter (March 20) regarding the right-to-work conversation currently being waged.

Gagne wrote that he works for a company that got rid of the union and now he makes better wages and benefits.

OK, why?

Could it be that officials at the company where he is employed understand that in order to have the employees feel there is no need for a union they must offer better wages and provide better benefits?

So, in effect, Gagne is reaping the rewards of a union as the company’s management made a conscious decision to “outbid” the attraction of the union.

Enough said.
