LEWISTON — The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon series at USM/Lewiston-Auburn College on Friday, April 8, will feature a presentation by Madelyn Given.

In her program, “Seven Marathons on Seven Continents,” she will relate her experiences in completing seven marathons across the world, from Antarctica, China, Greece, Chile, Africa, Australia and the Maine Marathon. Most recently she ran the Chicago Marathon in  October.

Given, a resident of Poland, is a retired elementary teacher from the Lewiston school system and is a member of Senior College. She is the first woman from Maine and 12th in the world to complete the seven marathons on seven continents.

Senior College, now in its 12th year, presents the monthly luncheon program at 11:30 a.m. in the Function Room 170 at USM LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door. Reservations must be made by noon Thursday, April 7, by calling 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered “at the door.”
