NEW GLOUCESTER — Vernon L. Bolster of New Gloucester passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, March 26. He was 100 years old and had lived in New Gloucester since 1957.
He was born Nov. 8, 1910, in south Dover, the second child of Lloyd G. and Nettie C. Bolster. He graduated from Caribou High School and Colby College and later took a master’s degree in education from the University of Maine at Orono. A lifelong educator, he taught at schools in New Hampshire and throughout Maine, often serving also as principal.
He is survived by his son, James; his daughter, Janis; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Hoskin of Houlton.
