FRYEBURG — Barbara E. Durgin, 71, of Norway, passed away on Sunday, March 27, at Fryeburg Health Care Center.
She was born in Sanford, June 2, 1939, the daughter of Leonard and Wilma O’Brien Sprague. She grew up in the Norway area and graduated from Bridgton Academy.
She had been a seamstress her whole life. She started working in a dress factory in Bridgton, then in several shoe shops and in her later years she made dog coats and helped her daughter make pocketbooks. She was a member of the Heyward Club in Norway.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana Davis and her husband, George, of Stow; a son, Bryan Durgin and his wife, Stephanie, of Milton, Wis.; a sister, Shirley Rogus and her husband, Leslie, of Waterford; a brother, Donald McAllister of Norway; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Conrad Durgin.
