FARMINGTON — Marlie Mochamer of Farmington, a senior at Mt. Blue High School, has been selected to receive the 2011 Principal’s Award, Principal Monique Poulin has announced.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Poulin said, “Marlie is very deserving of this award due to her dedication to her studies and her involvement in several extracurricular offerings at Mt. Blue High School. Marlie has challenged herself with honors and Advanced Placement courses and has participated in a variety of activities beyond academics.”

“She has been especially involved in soccer, serving as captain of her team this year, and participating in premiere leagues outside of school. She is treasurer of the Student Council, vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America and a member of the National Honor Society,” Poulin said.

She added, “She is also involved as a volunteer in our community, both through her participation in clubs at our school and on her own time. She is a wonderful representative of MBHS, and we are all pleased to recognize Marlie as the well-deserving recipient of the 2011 MPA Principal’s Award.”

Mochamer and Poulin will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 2.
