Rummage sale

STARKS — A rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, at Memorial Hall, Locke Hill Road. Proceeds will benefit the Starks Progressive Club and the United in Christ Presbyterian Church.

Farewell event

FARMINGTON — A farewell celebration and open house will be held for Rick Dorian, executive director of LEAP Inc., at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Trinity Methodist Church, 612 Farmington Falls Road.

A social hour will begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by presentations at 5:30. The public is invited. RSVP to Carlene Wilbur, 778-3443, ext. 110.

Tales and treats

FARMINGTON — “Tantalizing Tales and Treats: A Family Friendly Evening of Stories, Song and Snacks ” will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Old South First Congregational Church, Main Street.

Seating is limited seating and advanced ticket purchase is required. Cost is adults, $10; seniors 65 +, $8; couples, $15; children age 12 and younger, $5; family of three or more, $20; available at DDG Booksellers on Broadway, Good Times Unlimited RV Sales on Rte. 2 and the Old South Church office on Main Street. Childcare is available for preschool and elementary-age children.

Proceeds will benefit Old South Church’s outreach, community service and youth programs. For more information, call 778-0424.

Outdoor classes

LIVERMORE FALLS — RSU36 / Jay Adult Learning Center is offering two classes for the outdoors this spring.

Archery hunter education will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 7, and after follow-up classes on Wednesday and Thursday, April 20 and 21, participants will receive archery hunter certification. The course provides knowledge of equipment, hunting methods, general safety and responsibilities. Cost is $5.

Introduction to Golf will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, April 11 through May 16, at the Maple Lane Golf Course. Participants will be introduced to the rules, correct swing technique and golf etiquette. Bring clubs. Cost is $125.
