NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Normande “Norma” Rancourt, 86, of Lewiston and New Port Richey, Fla., died March 17, in Florida.
She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 9, 1924, the daughter of Henri Turcotte and Alexandrine D’Aigneault. Norma was active in the Orangewood Community Associations, serving as president and vice president.
When her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for organizations that provided care and companionship to the elderly. Norma was an avid cross stitcher and left many lasting examples of her beautiful handiwork. She enjoyed live performances of every kind. Some of her fondest memories were traveling with her children to New York City and Europe and spending the winters in Florida, with her husband. Her favorite moments were spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Norma worked by her husband’s side in family owned shoe factories as co-owner helping in the office.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years; five children, Diane Rancourt of Greer, S.C., Mike Rancourt and his wife, Debbie and their three children, Chris, Michelle and Kyle of Lewiston, Andre Rancourt and his wife, Margaret, of Greenville, S.C., Anne White and her husband, John and their two sons, Corey and Garret of Greene and Janet Dutson and her husband, Lance and their three children, Alexandra, Ezra and Sara of Cumberland; and her brother, Larry Turcotte and his wife, Pauline and two children of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jean-Marie “Jim” Turcotte.
