This is in response to the Sun Journal editorial of March 24.

Let me begin by stating that, like many people, I would prefer that what is happening in Libya was not happening.

I also hasten to add that if the main networks didn’t pay any attention to what was happening, as the editorialist wrote, it doesn’t mean the news wasn’t out there.

Given that I don’t listen to the network TV news broadcasts anymore, I had no idea that occurred. I did catch the news almost as it happened via Internet videos, and listened to the president outline what he was doing and why.

I do not know of protocols regarding the president’s action, but I was under the impression that the action was sanctioned and decided upon via the United Nations.

For the Sun Journal to imply that it was a fabrication by U.S. officials is insulting to me. In his message, the president repeatedly said that the U.S. was not in the lead, nor was the U.S. going to be the lead in that matter, and that the U.S. was going to back away ASAP.

I will just have to wait and see.

I do agree with the editorial regarding the nation’s zeal to assist other countries with their internal problems, but I feel that the time is coming when the U.S. is just going to have to say no. People need to understand that this country cannot, nor should it try to, save the world.
