AUBURN — Andrew James Lumb of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, March  22, at the young age of 37 from complications to a long illness.

He was born in Hythe, Kent, England and raised with his British/American military family in England, Germany and the USA. He was a graduate of U Maine, Mechanical Engineering and had also taken a metalworking skills certification course at Central Maine Community College.

He loved the outdoors and climbed Mt. Katahdin many times. He spent many days volunteering clearing the Appalachian Trail at the beginning of the hiking season. He also enjoyed fishing on Maine lakes and sailing in his sunfish boat. He was a supporter of Leeds Football Club (soccer) in Yorkshire

Andrew was loved by many in his community. He had a big heart always willing to help out anyone. He often helped friends with deck building or construction projects in any way that he could.

He is survived by his father, Peter Lumb; his mother, Bonnie Lumb; sister, Heather Lumb; sister, Jennifer Conley and her spouse, Jim Conley; his maternal grandmother, Frieda Merrill; and various family in the USA and in Yorkshire, England. He will also be missed by three nephews and one niece, whom he enjoyed spending time.
