WORCESTER, Mass. — Kathleen E. Drapeau, 58, of Fitchburg, Mass., passed away on Sunday, March 20, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Mass.

She was born Jan. 24, 1953, in Bath, a daughter of Edgar and Lavinia (Collins) Lane. She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. She then earned her associates degree in business administration.

She married Stephen Drapeau Sr. in 1975, and together they raised their young family. She worked at Shaw’s Supermarkets for 20 years in the customer service departments. She loved animals, especially cats. Kathleen enjoyed doing a number of crafts such as knitting and sewing. Camping, baking and reading gave her great pleasure in her later years. Her greatest love and joy were reserved for her children and her grandchild, Logan, and she was truly looking forward to her new grandchild due in May.

Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Stephen Drapeau Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Fitchburg, Mass., and Jason Drapeau and his fiancee, Jennifer James, of Lewiston; her father, Edgar Lane and his companion, Anna Jipson, of Turner; her brother, David Lane and his wife, Anita, of Turner; her sister, Debra Terrell and her husband, Michael, of Durham; her grandson, Logan; her former husband, Stephen Drapeau Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Lavinia (Collins) Lane.
