The Auburn Police Department hosted a five-day training for police supervisors and managers with the FBI and the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association at the Auburn Public Library from March 21 to March 25. Thirty-nine police officers from around Maine and as far as Texas and New York participated in the training, which covered topics including leadership, ethics and managing the next generation of law enforcers. Two recently promoted Auburn supervisors, Sgt. Barry Schmieks and Sgt. Laurie Woodhead, took part in the training, Lt. Tim Cougle said.
