The Jay Fire Rescue Department’s 2011, E-One International tanker truck arrived Wednesday. The truck was a demo and was purchased at a lower price than a new one would have been, Public Safety Director Larry White Sr. said. The Fire Department has downsized its fleet of trucks this year. An existing tanker and a pumper were traded in toward the new truck, he said. A few months ago, the Department sold a squad truck that was no longer needed. The department does not anticipate the purchase of another truck for at least eight years, White said. With the truck, from left, are Lt Darren Roundy, Capt Justin Merrill, Emergency Management Agency Director Noel Brown, Lt. Rick Duguay, Assistant Chief Mike Booker and Lt. Gary Wright.
