NORWAY — Kathleen S. Holden, 86, of West Paris, passed away on Sunday, April 3.

She was born in Bethel, Oct. 25, 1924, the daughter of W. Albert and Stella York Skillings. She attended Gould Academy, graduating with the Class of 1944. She married Charles W. Holden on March 20, 1948.

Kathleen worked at Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital as a receptionist for 16 years, retiring in 1996. She was a long term member of West Paris Grange 298.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; one son, Matthew Holden and his wife, Colleen, of South Paris; more than 30 foster children, including special foster sons, Timothy Fairbanks of Colorado, and Clarence Faulkner and his wife, Leigh, of Hebron; four sisters, Grace Yates of West Paris, Marion Grover of Limington, Winnifred Cleveland and her husband, Ralph and Florence Komulainen, all of North Norway; a brother, William Skillings of Otisfield; eight grandchildren, Allyssa Maurice, Kathleen and Rachel Holden, Travis, Jeremy and Joshua Fairbanks and Caleb and Gabriel Faulkner; a great-grandson, Nicholas Holden Maurice; a sister-in-law, Claribel Holden of Oxford; and former daughter-in-law, Darlene Glover, mother of Allyssa.

She was predeceased by her parents; and three sisters, Edna Skillings, Matilda Culleton and Priscilla Brett.

The family would like to thank the staff of Stephens Memorial Hospital, and Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center for their loving care.
