STRONG — The High Peaks Alliance will host a spaghetti supper, pie auction and bluegrass concert with the Sandy River Ramblers at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Forster Building.

All proceeds will go toward construction of the Fly Rod Crosby trail, a project of the High Peaks Alliance. Admission is a suggested donation of $12.

The trail is based on the life and times of Maine’s first registered guide, Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby and will eventually stretch 35 miles from Strong, where she is buried, to Oquossoc where she guided early sports in search of hunting and fishing.

In 2010 the High Peaks Alliance built two new miles of the trail in Madrid TWP and plan to pick up where they left off in summer of 2011.

The entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. There will be an auction of pies donated by local bakers and the Mt. Abram cooking class. The Sandy River Ramblers have been playing Bluegrass for 30+ years all over the state.

For more information or to enter a pie, contact Ben Godsoe at 578-0306 or visit the High Peaks Alliance at www.highpeaksalliance.wordpress.com.
