LEWISTON — Paul R. Picard, 82, of Lewiston went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, April 6, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 12 1929, a son of the late Armand J. and Maria D. (LeBlanc) Picard.

He married the former Constance G. Bosse, who predeceased him on Sept. 30, 2005, after 48 years of marriage. Paul was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Fitch. He was an avid outdoorsman and passed on that same passion to his two sons. He was employed for many years as a television repairman. In his later years, one of his greatest pleasures was traveling the Maine Coast and listening to big band music. Paul was liked by everyone he met and had a wonderful sense of humor. His grandchildren will surely miss “Pepere.”

He is survived by his children, David Picard and his wife, Priscilla, of New Hampton, N.H., Lisa Rines of Leeds, Debra Polley and her husband, Alton (Butch), of Greene and Brian Picard and his companion, Debbie, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Patrick and Jason Rines, Jacob, Emma and Justin Polley, Jennifer Jordan and George Kalioras; two brothers, Donald Picard of Connecticut, and Oscar Picard of Lewiston; a sister, Doris Picard of Lewiston; Paul also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and especially Michelle Hammond and Stephanie for their excellent care and compassion.
