This is in response to the March 31 editorial, “Governor’s quips hurting Maine’s image.” I think there are many, many Mainers who wholeheartedly agree.
Sometimes, when we purchase a new pet, it never seems to fit in with our family. Even though it might have been with us for several months, and we have given it lots of tender loving care and good food, it continues to mess in every corner, vomit on the carpets, bite, hiss, claw and growl at us.
When it has totally ruined our home, we finally have to admit that it is untrainable and, with heavy hearts, we return it to where it was purchased.
Isn’t it about time we ship the little clownish character back to the warehouse?
