SOUTH PARIS — Ella Tyler Button passed away on Friday, April 8, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in South Paris, Feb. 23, 1927, the daughter of Ronald and Gladys Tyler. She graduated from South Paris High in 1944 and Bliss College.

She worked in Lewiston at Roy Brothers Transportation and Bates Manufacturing until she married Wilbur Hersey Button on Feb. 2, 1947. They lived in Middletown and Manchester, Conn., and she worked at Aetna Life and Casualty. They returned to Maine in 1972, where she worked as office manager at Oxford Internal Medicine Group until retirement in 1988.

They operated the Button Cottages on the Five Kezar Lakes. She volunteered on Stoneham Rescue and was a Waterford Selectwoman from 1984 to 1987.

Ella loved spending time with her family, traveling, knitting, gardening, playing her keyboard and reading.

She is survived by her son, James and wife, Deborah; grandchildren, Andrew and Meredith Button, Abigail Button, Thomas and Merri Button, Keith Anderson and Lynn and Chris Reilly; she was blessed with great-grandchildren, Ella May Reilly, Jackson Reilly and Luna Button; brother, Stanley Tyler and wife, Arlene; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur H. Button in 2002; and her daughter, Nancy Anderson in 1989.
