AUBURN — Forest Donald Mills, 74, of Norway passed away Thursday, April 7, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Oxford, Feb. 9, 1937, to Forrest Donald and Elizabeth (Baxter) Mills.

Don worked at Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, until about 1969, after which he moved to Norway and started working for Reggie Strout in the sheet metal business. He later bought Kings Store in 1973, which later became Mills General Store.

Don and his wife, Thelma, started the Kone Head Ice Cream Shop and ran that for 14 years after which it was sold. He worked part time for Ron Kugell as a handyman. He enjoyed his winters in Florida, with his wife, Thelma, for the past 11 years.

He was a member of Oxford Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Norway, Moose Lodge, American Legion in Mechanic Falls, Shrine, and most important of all the Patch Mountain Boys.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Cordwell) Mills; son, Dan Mills; daughter, Laurie Proctor; grandchildren, Mia and Ben Proctor, Kasey, Dylan and David Mills; brothers, Dale and Wayne Mills; and sister, Marcella Kugell.
