Re-makes! Especially when they remake a BBC hit show and call it a Sci-Fi original series. It’s a remake! Why do you think Americanizing a television show, book or movie makes it better? It isn’t. You ruin the integrity of the plot as it was intended. A few of us hate this.

Why is it that a public high school in Maine is still allowed to call their sports teams the Redskins?! It’s an offensive slur and were it against any other nationality or ethnicity it would be disallowed. Maine still ignores REAL Maine natives’ rights. Ignorant. Shameful.

Am I the only one concerned that demanding a photo ID to vote will ruin absentee ballots for seniors and shut-ins who can’t go down to City Hall and send a family member a card in the mail? Why fix a system that isn’t broken?

My gripe is people making assumptions. Myself and other members of the community drive elderly persons. Parking in a handicapped spot and affixing their tag, many of us are asked to wait in the car. Independence and privacy are personal needs so don’t jump to conclusions when you see an able-bodied younger person in a spot designated for handicapped individuals. It’s not your business and you are probably wrong anyway.

The planes are getting pretty low over the house again. We can read the numbers. It stops for a few months, then starts up again. It’s a residential area with no airport in the area. When it stops felling like a minor annoyance and starts feeling like an invasion of privacy, there’s a problem.

I now travel to Augusta to shop due to rude salespersons in one particular store selling books and I’ve found I am not alone. More and more people prefer to shop and recreate elsewhere. Perhaps if pleasant people were hired, especially in this economy, more of us would stay in town. It’s a shame when several people complain to a manager, are refused a district manager’s contact info, and I see more people from here when I am away.

Why is it that more and more immigrants are welcomed into the U.S. and treated well but citizens are still trampling all over the rights, freedoms, and religions of the rightful inhabitants of our continent, Native Americans? All over the world we are discriminated against and it’s rarely reported and treated as the status quo.

Why is it so hard for people in Maine to get tubes tied or vasectomies? They give you a load of bull about age or not having children or “you may change your mind”. How condescending! Just because some fickle welfare women reproduce like rabbits does not mean everyone desires to reproduce. If you can go to war at 18, why isn’t your sexual reproductive organs your own choice? It’s your body. Your life.

Headed east on 202, snowing, 5 am, 4 cars coming at me, one appeared to have hi beams, unknown to me a cruiser. I was blinded so I flashed my hi beams for less than 7 seconds at less than 45 mph. I was stopped by ASO for “failure to dim my lights” . In court the officer admitted that I flashed my lights. Judge found me guilty of charge, $137. fine & I did nothing under Title 29A wrong. I guess the courts are trying to make up the budget loss on honest people thru fines.

 My gripe is people that do not display their number on their houses. I drive for a transportation service and it is really hard to find people if you can’t see a house number, Of course then if I have to drive real slow, some jerk really ticks me off by blowing his horn at me.
