I had the feeling that the state of Maine was going to be in for a long four years after Gov. Paul LePage told the NAACP where to go.

Being the optimist, I rationalized it by saying, “It’s just inexperience. He learned his lesson.”

Now, LePage has figured out the magic formula for bringing business to Maine. Why didn’t former Gov. John Baldacci figure it out? He had eight years; Gov. LePage has only been in office for four months.

It has been staring officials in the face the whole time. All LePage had to do was remove the mural from the Maine Department of Labor office. I bet companies have been lining up at the Kittery toll booths just waiting for that mural to come down.

Gov. LePage is a genius.

Somebody should tell him that there are books about the history of labor in the Maine State Library. He might need to do something about that. That would really tell corporate America that “Maine is open for business.”
