DEAR SUN SPOTS: It’s not too early to plan for special summer events. The New Sharon Alumni Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary of the first graduating class from New Sharon High School on June 25. Plans are under way to share memories, memorabilia and dinner together on the grounds of the former high school.

We urge all former students of the New Sharon schools to join us in the celebration. Bring any pictures or items you’d like share. More information will be sent to you as formalized plans are completed.

For more information or to offer ideas, contact Tim Taylor at 778-4246 or Arthur Turner at 743-6863. — Nora Thombs, New Sharon, 778-2215, nthombs@myfairpoint.net

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have been reading your column for a couple of years now, and I have seen how many people and organizations have had great success through their posting to you.

I am the coordinator for the Bonny Eagle High School Class of 1981 30th reunion and we are trying to get the word out to as many alumni or family members of alumni throughout Maine as we can. We still have a lot of addresses we are missing from our class list.

Anyone who graduated with the Class of 1981 from Bonny Eagle should get in touch with Deb (Millett) Leonard, David Conner or Cindy (Bourgeois) Meserve. An email address for alumni to submit information for the reunion has been created at BE1981reunion@gmail.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m in need of some help to locate some missing classmates from Lewiston High School Class of 1991: Scott Bellefleur, Aimee Carrier, Shelia Cloutier, David Desjardins, Derek Fox, Robert Panzeno, Jamie Pessant, Heather Rooney, Elizabeth Spruill, Tracey Smith, Paul St. Amand and Corey Storer.

If any of your readers know the above classmates, please have them contact me by email. We would hate to have them miss our 20th class reunion this year! Thank you. — Kristen Thibodeau, jetershot@hotmail.com, 653-0873

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I found a 1967 class ring from Camp Lejeune High School, North Carolina. The initials inside are C.A.P. I’m not sure if it’s a boy’s or a girl’s, but it’s rather on the small side.

One side is clear, and you can make out everything on it, but the other side is worn away from rubbing up against another ring. The sides say “Honor, Truth an Loyalty.”

ANSWER: If no one responds locally, you might want to send this clipping to the school. They may be able to locate the student from the initials. The school is at 835 Stone St., Jacksonville, NC 28547, 910-451-2451.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: After a successful effort last fall to reunite skaters from the former Bear Pond Park and Mexico Roller Rink era, a second spring skating reunion has been planned for Thursday, April 28, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Auburn Rollodrome. Admission will be $5.

Whether you come to skate or to just renew old friendships, we are looking forward to seeing you. If you know of family, friends or neighbors who used to skate at these former rinks, we encourage you to pass the word along.

For more information, call me at 562-7452. Thank you. — Tim Kelly, Dixfield, mtkelly31@myfairpoint.net
