I was browsing the Internet the other day, looking for puppies, and was astounded by the prices being charged for mutts.

I really don’t care what the breeders choose to name them — boggles, labradoodles, pomapoos, or whatever other ridiculous name they can come up with. If the breed isn’t recognized by the AKC, it’s a mutt and, as with any mutt, you don’t know what you’re going to get when you buy one.

Breeders can’t guarantee that the puppies will have only the good traits of the parents, so it’s a crap shoot.

I’m going to the pound and adopt one. At least then I’ll be saving a life and not lining some puppy mill’s pockets.
