BRUNSWICK — Pearl D. Noble Goodwin, 92, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 9, at Mid Coast Hospital.

She was born in Norway, May 16, 1918, the daughter of Nathan A. and Pearl Dunham Noble and attended Norway schools. Pearl worked for many years as a switchboard operator at B.E. Cole, Francine and Miller Shoe shops, after her retirement, she became a volunteer driver for Western Maine Transportation.

In 1999, she relocated to Brunswick to be closer to her children and became a volunteer at Mid Coast Hospital as a driver for the Courtesy Shuttle throughout the hospital grounds. She was a member of the Heywood Club and the Eastern Star.

Despite several adversities throughout her life, beginning with the death of her mother shortly after birth, she lived a full and happy life. She worked hard in order to provide a warm, loving home for her children and always put them first in her life. She loved family gatherings and always added fun, love and laughter to them. She was a wonderful, supportive and loving mother, who was deeply loved and was truly blessed to have shared a very close relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her Sunday dinners, homemade fudge and doughnuts, feeding the birds and deer, daily phone calls with her children and her off-color jokes.

Survivors include her children, Bethany and husband, Warren Bryant, of Topsham, Doreen and husband, Keith Fitzgerald, of West Bath and Daniel and wife, Nancy Goodwin, of Yarmouth; grandchildren, Darin and Patricia Bryant of Topsham, Jackie and David Lemieux of Williamstown, Mass., Chris and Haila Bryant of Brunswick,Jody and Dugta Heikkinen of El Paso,Texas, and Matthew Goodwin of Yarmouth;10 great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Lona and Emile (Bill) Bedard of Norway; and several nieces and nephews.
