LEWISTON — A 15-year-old Lewiston Middle School student suffered several stab wounds early Wednesday morning during an encounter with several other people on Blake Street.

The wounded boy, who was not identified by police, was injured around 1 a.m. after he left his apartment on Blake Street. According to police, he got involved in an altercation with several males and was stabbed with a small knife.

The teen told police he could not identify his attackers and was not sure why the fight started.

His injuries were not life-threatening, and he was treated and released from Central Maine Medical Center early Wednesday.
