BRUNSWICK — Carol W. Roberts, 86, of Lisbon Falls, died Monday, April 11, at Midcoast Hospital, with her family by her side.
She was born in Hanover, N.H., Feb. 16, 1925, a daughter of the late Walter and Belle Adam Wilson. She spent the early years of her life in Vermont, and would always be a Vermonter at heart. She graduated from high school in Westfield, Mass., and then from beautician school.
Carol married Delbert E. Roberts on Jan. 12, 1946. He died Feb. 14, 2002. They lived in Dalton, Mass., all of their married life.
There she worked as a beautician and owned her own business, until retirement in 1989. Upon retirement, she cared for her husband until his death in 2002. She then moved to Lisbon Falls to be close to family, where she delighted in her granddaughters and great-grandsons. Her granddaughters also delighted in hearing her Vermont expressions.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Pittsfield, Mass., and upon moving to Maine, she was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Brunswick. In each congregation, she gained many friends whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Ramona and her husband, Leonel Lavoie; her granddaughters, Carol Ann and her husband, Tim Fischer and Kate and her husband, Jay Raitt; her great-grandsons, Connor and Jackson Fischer and Aiden and Noah Raitt, all of Lisbon Falls; her sister, Arlene Hughes of Southwick, Mass.; her brother, Calvin Wilson of Vermont; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
