At about 6:45 Monday evening word was received at the Auburn police station that a crazy man was on his way up the Spring road towards North Auburn flourishing two revolvers. It is claimed that the man came along the road swinging two large revolvers and his strange actions alarmed the people who live in the vicinity. The police believe that they know who the man is and that he is one who always plays the Western act when he is intoxicated.
50 years ago, 1961
An organizational meeting for a 50-year reunion of the Edward Little High School class of 1911 will be held at 1 p.m., April 18, at the YMCA, Turner Street, Auburn.
Clarence E. March, president of the graduating class, is making arrangements for the reunion, which will be the first ever held since the class was graduated.
Persons having any information about class members are asked to contact the secretary, Miss Florence Greenleaf, Auburn.
25 years ago, 1986
Automotive specialists from New York and around New England joined area technicians in evaluating the automotive craft department at the Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute this week.
The evaluation team arrived Tuesday at the Auburn vocational training facility and held meetings with staff members. The group studied the educational facilities offered in the automotive craft department.
Making arrangements for the evaluation and accreditation of the ASE Evaluation visit was Wallace Fish, department chairman of the automotive technology department at CMVTI.
