AUBURN — Fernande Galipeau Plourde Krefetz Geoffroy, 88, of Auburn, loving wife of Bertrand Geoffroy, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, at Clover Manor.

She was born in Auburn, May 19, 1922, the daughter of Felix Xavier Galipeau and Oveline Adele Laprise Galipeau. Fern was educated in Lewiston schools. She married Louis Plourde on May 12, 1947. He passed away on May 26, 1979. In 1987, Fern married Herman Krefetz. He passed away on April 9, 1994. Fern married Bertrand Geoffroy on June 23, 2000. He survives her.

Fern lived in Maine until 1950, in East Hartford and Avon, Conn., from 1950 to 2000 and then returned to Maine in 2000. She worked at Bates Mill in Lewiston and retired from the Institute of Living in Hartford, Conn., after more than 25 years of service. She was a devout Catholic.

In addition to her husband, Fern is survived by a brother, Daniel and Carmen Isabel of Lewiston; 18 nieces and nephews; seven stepchildren; and many additional relatives and friends.

Fern was predeceased by her sister, Simonne Ouellette; and her brothers, Gerard, Phil, Reneau, Albert, Clement, Omar and Jean Marie Galipeau.
