AUBURN — Jean Larochelle, 86, of Sabattus passed away April 11, at the Hospice House on Stetson Road, with her family by her side.

Jean was born April 11, 1925, in Ste. Edwidge Compton, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Beatrice Labbe-Palardy and Joseph Louis Palardy. She lived most of her life in Lewiston, then moved to her summer home on Sabattus Lake when she retired. She had attended Lewiston schools.

On Jan. 29, 1944, she married Wilfred Elzear Larochelle at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston.

She worked as a fancy stitcher during L-A’s thriving shoe shop and factory era, later retiring from Knapp Shoe Co.

She loved listening to her country western music and playing cards with her family. She had a great love and compassion for animals, both domestic and wild.

She enjoyed sewing, garage sales, and she was always working on a craft project. She loved the outdoors at her home on Sabattus Lake and spent many hours in the spring, summer, and fall sitting on her porch swing enjoying her family, friends and animals.
