The Gingerbread House on Main Street in Norway was lifted onto wheels Friday as James Merry & Sons Building Movers of Scarborough prepared to move it up the street to a new foundation. Volunteers from the Norway Landmarks Preservation Society, a nonprofit organization doing business as Friends of the Gingerbread House, have worked for two years to acquire the 20- by 80-foot house and move it to a new lot to save it from the wrecking ball.
