LEWISTON – Museum L-A’s Education Department is offering two programs during the upcoming April vacation week. “Bobbin Girl” and “Weave and Spin” will take place at Museum L-A and run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Boys and girls age 7-11 will learn about children working in the textile mills of New England and the jobs they had as part of the “Bobbin Girl” program on Tuesday, April 19. They will see the types of machines and equipment used in addition to hearing “The Bobbin Girl” story. Those who attend will also make their own picture book.

“Weave and Spin,” on Thursday, April 21, is designed for boys and girls age 8-13. Participants will have a chance to try out weaving and spinning the old-fashioned way, then visit the museum to see how the Industrial Revolution changed production.
