Gov. Paul LePage should leave the state and city retirement plans alone. And there are other problems besides the outrage over the mural at the Labor Department building.
Maine has been mismanaged for years and that has cost taxpayers millions of dollars. LePage should start focusing on cutting funding for General Assistance for those people who could work but just don’t want to. There are many people who live off the state welfare system who, on the first of the month (with welfare check in hand), head for the bars. The bars are full of Maine people on welfare, living at the taxpayers’ expense.
The Maine economy is in crisis. General Assistance and the welfare system must be reduced. There are people who should not be using them.
LePage should focus more on creating jobs, lowering taxes for Maine people and stop the wasteful spending.
