DEAR SUN SPOTS: Each year, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center holds a giant yard sale to benefit its partners in Haiti, the St. Boniface Foundation, Pwoje Espwa (Project Hope) orphanage and the Sisters of Charity of Saint-Hyacinthe.

This year, the yard sale will be held Saturday, May 7. Right now, we’re searching for donations such as knickknacks, small appliances (no large appliances or furniture, please), toys, books (no textbooks, please), DVDs and CDs, gently used children’s clothing, jewelry and miscellaneous small household items.

Please keep us in mind when you start your spring cleaning. Items may be left Friday, May 6, at the Lepage Conference Center at 99 Campus Ave. in Lewiston from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. What a wonderful opportunity to help others and get rid of your unwanted items. You’ll feel great knowing that you’ve helped Haiti and have a little more room in your house! Unless, that is, you come back on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to purchase some cool yard sale finds!

If you have any questions, please call Yvette Levasseur at 777-8805. — Jennifer Radel, community relations manager, jradel@stmarysmaine.com
