TURNER — The Turner Public Library will hold its first “TPL Celebrates Spring” fund-raising event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the historic Leavitt Institute Building.

There will be information and advice available on composting, soil testing, growing “The Queen of Vines” and landscaping, in addition to networking with fellow gardeners. Available for purchase will be compost and loam (in convenient buckets), plants, bulbs, seeds, cedar tubs, trellises and compost bins. Also for sale will be garden-themed art pieces and craft items and a tulip motif quilt.

Lunch will be available on the lower level of the Leavitt Institute Building.

Afternoon events will feature a children’s Easter Bonnet Parade sponsored by the Turner History Rooms and the Easter Egg Hunt with a visit from the Easter Bunny. Local fiddler Pam Weeks will perform.

Additional participants include Androscoggin Farm Bureau, Brigeen Farms, Caldwell Farms, Clark’s, Hummingbird Farm, Lawn Guard Lawn Care, Nezinscot Farms, Northland True Value, Paris Farmers Union, Sunnyside Gardens, Cooperative Extension Service, Andy Valley Soil & Water Conservation District and the Turner Natural History Club.
