JAY — Voters in three towns chose 13 residents of their communities Tuesday to serve on the new RSU 73 Board of Directors. They chose some former directors of Jay and RSU 36 and some new directors.

It was a light voter turnout for the elections, clerks said.

Directors of the board to oversee the new consolidated school system of Jay and RSU 36 are Dan DiPompo, Michael Morrell, Vicki McLeod, Darcie Comstock, Tammy Dwinal-Shufelt and Mary Redmond-Luce, all of Jay; Cindy Young, Diane Gould and Tim Madden of Livermore; and Ann Souther, Denise Rodzen, Jackie Knight and Tammy Castonguay Frost of Livermore Falls.

Jay had no contested races for its six slots on the board.

Voters elected DiPompo, with 95 votes, Morrell, 94 votes, McLeod, 90 votes, Comstock, 88 votes, Dwinal-Shufelt, 83 votes and Redmond-Luce, 79 votes. DiPompo, Comstock, Dwinal-Shufelt and Redmond-Luce are current members of the Jay School Committee.

Livermore had four residents running for three terms. Veteran RSU 36 Chairman Ashley O’Brien lost his bid for election to the new board receiving 59 votes.

Voters elected Young with 124 votes, Gould, 110 votes and Madden, 105 votes.

Livermore Falls had six residents competing for four seats.

Getting the most votes were Souther, 106 votes, Rodzen, 100 votes, Knight, 89 votes and Castonguay Frost, 80 votes. Both Carmen Cullen, 57 votes, and Katrina Roy, 51 votes, lost their bids to serve on the new board.
