AUBURN — Rick Cloutier, manager at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport, recently completed an extensive certification program for executives who operate the nation’s airports.

The American Association of Airport Executives’ professional certification program consists of information and knowledge ranging from the organization and history of the FAA, environmental and land use compatibilities, financial management and accounting, airport capital development and funding, to airport system plans and master planning.

The training and certification of airport professionals through the AAAE has been available for nearly 50 years; however, currently the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport is one of three airports in the state and the only general aviation airport in the state that has a certified manager overseeing its businesses and daily operations.
