HARTFORD — Road Commissioner Jeremy Johnson brought pictures to the selectmen’s meeting Thursday night to show them damage from Sunday’s rainstorm.

Among the sites were:

* Bear Mountain Road, washed out in one area and a culvert exposed in another.

* Stetson Road, a large section caved in and culvert exposed. Apparently David Bragg was traveling on the road with a truck load of rock when he spotted the cave-in just in time to avoid going into the hole, Johnson said.

* Swan Pond Road, a washout across the entire road in one area.

* Town Farm Road, pavement collapsed in one area, a large crack ran down the road in another section, sides of the road undermined by water.

Johnson said all areas have been fixed temporarily and he will be seeking money to make permanent repairs.

In other business before the board, Maynard and Sons was the only bidder for snowplowing  and got the three-year contract for $3,000 a mile for 47.34 miles.

There will be a workshop on the town Comprehension Plan implementation Tuesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. with selectmen. The public is invited.

The deadline for submitting nomination papers for selectman for three years and road commissioner for three years is April 30.
