WATERFORD — The Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring a course in “Basic and Advanced Erosion and Sediment Control Practices” from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Waterford Town Office, 366 Valley Road.

This course provides an opportunity for contractors such as builders, landscapers, property managers and loggers to maintain or obtain DEP certification in erosion control practices so that they can be in compliance with legislation changes that will go into effect in 2013.

The course is of primary interest to contractors but could also be helpful to municipal code enforcement officers, consultants, engineers and public works employees.

The cost for the course is $35. Participants may register by calling Michele Windsor at the Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District or at www.oxfordswcd.net.
