WILTON — Incumbent Selectmen Paul Gooch and Terry Brann, board chairman, are being challenged in the June elections.

Paul Berkey Jr. has filed papers for Gooch’s seat and Stephen Smith has filed papers for Brann’s.

A couple of residents have expressed interest in running for the seat of Irv Faunce, who resigned last week, Town Manager Rhonda Irish said.

Tiffany Maiuri has indicated her intention to run for the seat, but the board has yet to consider how they will proceed in filling the position.

During their May 3 meeting, the board will decide whether to shorten the nomination period so the town can vote in June, or keep the period the same and hold a special election to fill the two years left on Faunce’s term, she said.

Selectmen will meet Tuesday, April 26, with the Ordinance Committee for a workshop on the proposed changes to the parking and traffic ordinance. The workshop begins at 7 p.m. at the town office. It is open to the public but the board will take no action until a future board meeting, she said.
