Honor society
RANGELEY — Rangeley Lakes Regional School has announced that two students will be inducted into the National Honor Society in a ceremony to be held in the school gymnasium at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 2. This year’s new inductees are Ellie Brooks and Chantal Carrier.
To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Additionally, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service and character. Students are evaluated and selected by a faculty council.
The public is invited to attend this ceremony and a short reception in the multi-purpose room at the conclusion of the assembly.
Books, more sale
FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold a Books are Fun sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 2, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Bass Room.
Something for everyone; books, gifts and music. Local authors will be signing their books. Open to the public.
Benefit supper
WILTON — A benefit spaghetti supper will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Masonic Lodge, to help send Charlene and Rufus Cox to Chicago to get his Masonic 33 degree. $6 donation requested.
Mothers’ breakfast
KINGFIELD — A Mothers’ Day breakfast is being offered from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Kingfield United Methodist Church.
The menu will include pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries, baked beans, muffins, coffee and juice. The cost is $5 per person.
Attendees need not be or even bring a mother to attend; everyone is welcome.

Bean supper
JAY — A public supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the North Jay Grange #10. Baked beans, casseroles, salads, rolls, desserts, beverages. Entertainment by Gary and Lois Hall.

Used book sale
FARMINGTON — Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties will hold a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, at the Elk’s Lodge in West Farmington.
Hardcover prices are $2 each or six for $10; paperbacks are 25 cents each or five for $1; trade books for 50 cents each or three for $1. Sunday, everything is $2 per bag.
Books may be left in the shed behind the Elk’s Lodge after April 22. For more information or directions, call 778-3460.
Benefit concert
STRONG — A benefit concert for The Community Table will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the Forester Memorial Building.
Greater Purpose and Backyard Bluegrass Band will perform.
Light refreshments available. The concert is free. All donations collected will be donated to The Community Table. All are welcome.
