GREENE — Androscoggin Grange #8 recently distributed 130 dictionaries to the third grade children in SAD #52 which consists of Greene, Leeds and Turner.
Cindy Morin, a member of the grange, is in charge of this project and all funds are earned by the annual Children’s Variety Show that is popular by both children and adults.
The show gives the children a chance to display their talents for family and friends and it gives them an outlet to meet other children. The show is always held on the last Saturday in April at the grange hall at 99 Main St. Refreshments will be sold during intermission.
The Grange is proud to support the Dictionary Project through its Words for Thirds program. Through the tireless efforts of the Grange’s network of more than 300,000 volunteers, America’s oldest rural and agriculture organization has presented third grade students across the nation with more than 100,000 dictionaries.
