Maple Lane league meetings

LIVERMORE — Maple Lane Golf Course will hold informational meetings for players interested in the weekly men’s and ladies’ leagues. The men will meet Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m. The women will meet Tuesday, May 24 at 6 p.m.

Prospect Hill leagues starting

AUBURN —Prospect Hill Golf Course announces opening day for two of its leagues.

The Wednesday morning ladies golf league at Prospect Hill Golf Course will start May 4. An organizational meeting will begin at 8:15 a.m., with tee time at 9 a.m. New members are always welcome. For more information, call Kim Coombs at 783-8838.

Thursday senior men’s league will start May 5. Play begins at 9 a.m. Please arrive early to sign up and pay fees. Make checks payable to Mike Bolduc.

Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball registration

Baseball players may now register to join the Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball league.

Eligible players are age 13, 14 or 15 on April 30, 2011, and live in one of the following towns: Fayette, Readfield, Mt. Vernon, Manchester, Winthrop, Leeds, Greene, Turner, Monmouth, Sabattus, Wales, Litchfield.

The league plays from mid-May into July, and games do not conflict with middle school or high school schedules. Please email [email protected], or call Dave Theriault at 441-7054.

Hoop tournament slated

PARIS — Relay for Life of Oxford Hills is hosting a co-ed, 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Teams from all over Maine are invited to participate. Registration fee is $50 for a team of five (three males/two females). Participants receive a T-shirt if registered by May 1. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team. Raffles and refreshments will be available at the event.

The tournament is Saturday, May 14 at 9 a.m. at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Proceeds from the event will benefit Relay For Life of Oxford Hills, an annual charity event for the American Cancer Society. The relay is scheduled for May 21 and 22 at OHCHS.
