Our elected representatives were voted into office by registered voters, not paid lobbyists for businesses. Now some of these characters are trying to get billboards back into Maine.

Just think, maybe Portland can be the new Newark North.

If no billboards are allowed, then all the businesses are on the same level playing field regarding outdoor advertising.

I hope the public’s common sense will prevail with elected officials so that they give those ridiculous bills the quick death they deserve.

The state can absorb only so much of these low bid ideas, such as casinos and billboards, before it becomes just another semi-landfill for every huckster who can find the Turnpike.
