PHILLIPS — A Phillips-Strong Lions Club food drive to help stock local food pantries will take place Saturday, May 7, with members knocking on doors and picking up donations to help neighbors in need. Lions and Western Mountain Leos from Mt. Abram may come knocking any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., asking for canned goods and nonperishables for the Salem Economic Ministry and the Phillips Food Pantry.
For those wishing to drop off food before that Saturday, the following businesses have agreed to accept donations during the week preceding the food drive: 5-K Pizza and Edmunds Market in Phillips, and Beals Store and the White Elephant in Strong.
If you’d like the Lions and Leos to stop at your house, call David and Nancy Morgan at 639-3717 or Bill and Vicki Birden at 684-2234.
