PARIS — The Fox School Farmers Market at 10 East Main St. will open for another season from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

The market will continue every Saturday through the summer and into the fall. Participating enterprises are Thunder Hill Farm, Whippoorwill Hill Farm, McAllister Farm, Verrill’s Vegetable Farm, Sun Rise Cafe and Bakery, Streaked Mountain Herbs and Crafts, Libby Rose Organics, Harvest Moon Produce and Meadow Ridge Perennials.

Organizers say shopping with the vendors at this growers-only market means shoppers are purchasing products that local vendors have grown, baked or made. Vendors are on hand to talk to about their growing methods or ingredients.

Locally grown means the foods and flowers will be fresher and offer more variety, perennial plants are field grown, eggs and meat products come from small herd farms and the fresh baked goods are made without preservatives, organizers said, adding that the vendors want to be a major food hub for shoppers.

The incentives of the market include greater food choices, healthier farms and job opportunities for small business ventures, according to market organizers.
