BETHEL — REACH, the sexual assault support center for Oxford County and the towns of Bridgton and Harrison, will once again present Eve Ensler’s award-winning “The Vagina Monologues.”

Last year, the performance took place before a full house at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris. To make the production accessible to other areas of the county, this year’s show will be presented at Telstar High School Auditorium in Bethel and Mt. Valley High School Auditorium in Rumford.

REACH has issued a call for readers of the monologues; no acting experience is required. The performance is by local women. While all cast members are required to be women, men and older teens are welcome and encouraged to attend the performances.

“The Vagina Monologues” is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. For more than 12 years, “The Vagina Monologues” has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously expressed in public. A major goal of the production is to raise awareness about and end sexual violence worldwide.

REACH has been providing services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their loved ones for almost 30 years.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Telstar; and at 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Mt. Valley.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and $10 for senior citizens and students. They may be purchased at Books N Things on Main Street, Bethel; Bartash Gifts and Cards, 98 Congress St., Rumford; Red Hill Natural Foods, 228 Waldo St., Rumford, and the REACH office, 1 East Main St., South Paris.
