LEWISTON — Evan Carrier and Sam Cloutier both registered hat tricks Thursday as Lewiston rolled to a 13-6 victory over Oxford Hills in KVAC boy’s lacrosse action.

Elliot Chicoine, Ryan Lemelin, Chris Rancourt, Caleb Leino, Tro Hebert, Cody Dussault and Tanner Lessard also tallied for the Blue Devils (4-1) to complete the scoring. Jesse Leeman (7) and Tom Lepage (3) combined for 10 saves to notch the win.

The Vikings (1-3) put three goals on the board in the third quarter but the gap was already insurmountable.

Poland 9, Yarmouth 0

POLAND — Brittana Maheux belted a home run as Poland exploded for 13 hits in a 9-0 shutout win over Yarmouth in WMC softball action.

Kat Seeley, Katie Love, Kate Bridgham and Lindsay Theriault collected two hits apiece for the Knights, while Melora Lavoie and Cassie Mocciola each added a triple.

Amanda Gibson pitched her first career shutout for Poland, allowing four hits while striking out three. Becca Sarson had two of Yarmouth’s hits.

Baseball

Livermore Falls 11,

Mt. Abram 0

SALEM — Gavin Jones scattered two hits and drew plenty of run support as Livermore Falls cruised to a 11-0 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC baseball action Thursday.

Brandon Hodges led the Andies (2-5) with three hits and four RBIs.

Hunter Brett also contributed with two hits in a balanced attack.

The Roadrunners (1-4) saw Cal Dixon start out on the hill, allowing seven runs in the first three frames of work to take the loss.

Telstar 17, Madison 1

BETHEL — Ben Field hurled five innings of one-hit baseball Thursday to lead Telstar to a 17-1 walk-in-the-park over Madison in MVC baseball action.

Field also helped the Rebels (4-1) at the plate with three hits and three RBIs. Dan Whitney and Kyle Peterson also contributed with two hits each for Telstar. Garrett Emery worked the first three frames for Madison (1-5) and suffered the loss.

Telstar 7, Madison 0

BETHEL — Kayla Merrill struck out 15 batters and walked none Thursday as Telstar hustled to a 7-0 rout over Madison in a MVC softball matchup.

Nycena Walker led the undefeated Rebels (5-0) with a fine two-run triple in the first inning. Natalie Michaud led the Bulldogs (4-1) with two hits on the day.

Mt.Abram 18,

Livermore Falls 3

SALEM — Molly McCafferty scattered three hits and drove in three runs to lead Mt. Abram to a 18-3 victory over Livermore Falls in MVC softball action.

Danni Smith also drove in three runs on two singles, while Sam Werzanski added a pair of singles for the Roadrunners (2-2). Kathryn Ventrella had an RBI single for the Andies (0-7).
