AUBURN — Antoinette “Toni” Laura Bertrand, 81, passed away May 6, with her loving husband, “Bon’homme,” by her side at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Tanguay) Bernier. On April 11, 1953, she married Ronaldo J. Bertrand Jr. Toni worked at Bates Mill for 30 years and later worked in a local shoe shop for 10 years.

She leaves behind her devoted husband and caregiver, Ronaldo; a daughter, Diane Clark and husband, Joe, of Oxford; a son, Michael Bertrand and wife, Julie, of Minot; grandchildren Brenda Burkhamer and husband, David, of Mississippi, Emily, Everett and Elizabeth Bertrand; six great-grandchildren Tabitha, Joshua, Hannah, Stephen, Jared and Miriam Burkhamer; two sisters, Pauline Bolduc and husband, Regent, of Lewiston, and Yvette Labranche of Augusta; two brothers, Henry Bernier and Lionel Bernier and wife, Louise, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and 13 siblings.
