LEWISTON — Beatrice Evelyn Jones, 97, of Lewiston and formerly Danville, passed away peacefully Friday, May 6, at Marshwood Center.

She was born in Weeks Mills June 6, 1913, the daughter of the late John C. and Kathleen Pratt Malcolm. She was married on June 6, 1936, to Bernard W. Jones, who predeceased her in 1984. For much of her life she was employed in shoe manufacturing. In her later years she devoted much of her time to the care of her parents and her mother-in-law. She will be remembered for her love of children and her hospitality. When visiting her, rarely did one leave her home without enjoying a piece of home-made pie.  

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Verdell Jones and wife ,Christina, of Winthrop, and Darrell Jones and wife, Nancy, of Falmouth; seven grandchildren, Laura Hamer and husband, Greg, of Prospect, Lisa Hart and husband, Greg, of Whitefield, Amy Norton and husband, Keith, of Brewer, Sarah Jones-Nudds and husband, Shane Nudds, of Rochester, N.Y., Shawn Jones and wife, Emmie, of Auburn, Catherine Fisher and husband, Jacob Austin, of Westbrook, and William Fisher of Portland; five great grandchildren,  Emma and Logan Norton, Mason and Kendra Jones, and Annabel Nudds; three sisters, Theo Turcotte of West Gardiner, Minnie Pond of Lewiston, and Madolyn Upton of Cherryfield; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Malcolm of Winthrop and Kathryn Malcolm of Farmingdale.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Cony, Winfield and Emery Malcolm.
